It’s the third edition of ‘Club Watch’ this week so let’s find out some of the latest news from several of our National League sides.

National 1

Bishop’s Stortford RFC

Fans of Bishop’s Stortford will be cycling from Silver Leys to Chinnor Rugby Club in what will be a 70-mile journey from one club to another on Saturday October 6th.

The 37 cyclists will be raising money for Aurora Rea who has Movement Disorder and Global Development Delay.

Her parents are raising the money in order to send their daughter back to Cosmosuit, an intensive physiotherapy unit in Milan where Aurora made large improvements when she was there previously.

Darlington Mowden Park

Mowden Park are hosting a golf day in aid of the Beefy Charity Foundation. Taking place at Rockliffe Hall today, the event will raise money for various charities and is another great example of Darlington’s Community Trust.

There will be prizes for; nearest the pin, longest drive, individual score and winning team. There will even be the opportunity to win a Porsche.

Plymouth Albion

Promotion hopefuls Plymouth Albion are renting out their all-weather 3G pitch to members of the public!

National 2 North

Chester RUFC

Chester have put a call-out to any of the their former players to return to the club for a pre-match meal.

Taking place on the 17th of November, former players are invited to come to the buffet to catch-up with their ex-playing colleagues prior to Chester’s game against Wharfedale.

Leicester Lions

The Lions have announced that they will be putting on a rugby camp in the October half-term across three dates. The camps are for U5s all the way to U15s.

Costing £20 for one day and £50 for all three dates, children will be coached by Director of Rugby Andy Key.

Huddersfield RUFC

Huddersfield have been present at their local university’s freshers fair in the aim of recruiting young players to join the ranks, as well as continue some players’ development after they’ve gone to uni.

Handing out free training shirts to anyone that goes to their stall, it’s great to see the club getting involved at Huddersfield University.

National 2 South

Bury St Edmunds RFC

Bury St Edmunds are doing their own golf day at The Suffolk Golf Club on the 28th of September. For just £45 per person, participants will get a bacon roll and coffee on arrival, play 18 holes of golf and get a meal at the end of the day.

Dings Crusaders RFC

The Crusaders were eulogising all weekend about their former player, Jake Polledri who had a game to remember against Bristol Bears on Friday night.

The Italian international was awarded Man of the Match on his first start of the season for Gloucester and the Dings faithful reminisced about their former star.

Taunton Titans RFC

Taunton will be launching their new website on the 29th of September. Now second place in National 2 South, the club have developed a fresh site after their fans asked for a better platform.
