The hosts trailed 19-13 at half-time as Mark Harrison, George Morgan and Dan Rundle all crossed for Stour in the opening period.

Dale’s points came via the boot of Jack Blakeney-Edwards, as well as an effort from Louis Morgan, and the Yorkshire outfit were able to move ahead when they were awarded a penalty try on 50 minutes.

Stourbridge hit back as the prolific Rundle continued his scintillating recent form, but the last quarter belonged to the home side as they raced to victory.

Will Edwards and Will Lawn both dotted down whilst the impressive Blakeney-Edwards landed two further penalties to seal the win for Wharfedale.

Dale now sit 10th in the table and are four points behind eighth-placed Otley while Stourbridge are one point further back as their poor away form continued.

Wharfedale welcome Peterborough Lions to the Avenue on the final day of the season this Saturday while Stour face fellow Midlands outfit Leicester Lions at TMDP Park.
